It will look fine for a while and if you only plan to keep it as a small tree it will be fine too. As a fully grown tree, one would expect it to have included bark between the two trunks, which in later years would possibly be a weak point. Not to worry, by that point many of us will be back recyling our own nutrients in the ecosystem.
