Congratulations, you have distinguished yourself as an arborist that isn't afraid to use his cranium for more than a hardhat shelf. After a successful career in the industry I had become accustomed to the mutually exclusive relationship between the terms "arborist" and "intellect". I fully expected my last post to be met with a barrage of advisarial responses for questioning the idea of "ornamental plants". (I also object to the term "plant material". When have you ever heard of people referred to as "animal material"). Deep sustainability, appropriate technology, biodiversity, voluntary simplicity, these are the issues that should concern people who work in close association with other life forms (as arborists do). Too often the cultural aesthetic of pristine "turf & trees" takes presidence over ecologicaly sound landscaping.
I have read a number of your posts and applaud your willingness to question old ideas. I hope your employment situation has improved. If I still had my operation running I would have been glad to have had you on my team.
Thanks for Keeping the List Awake,
Barbarian Transient Arborist (saw enough of those over the years)
