We do alot of work for two seperate golf courses here in central fla. Both courses like to remove any dead tree asap. Since central fla is the undisputed lighting capital of the world, plus a runaway epidemic of southern pine bore beatles. We remove quite a few pines every year either from lighting strikes or beatle damage. Most of the pines average 60 to 80 foot tall and on a good day we do 12 to 15 with a three man crew. The work is very easy as far being technical using a throw line to install a tag line and pulling it onto the side of the fairway. Both places are wide open and you would have to be a complete idiot to break any thing. Since almost all the pines are about the same amount of work we remove any pine for two hundred bucks. Sure some times we get a hard one but it all evens out in the end and it keeps things real simple. All our chips are dumped either on the cart paths or the natural areas along the fairways. The pine logs are cut into 18 ft sections and sold as pulp wo
od. I enjoy working at b
oth courses and I would rather be doing removals from a finacial stand point but climbing and trimming is my first love but not as lucrative. Over the years I have picked up numerous residential accounts from the people who golf there. They know that we are not a fly by night operation and we try to keep up a good image by having clean trucks and employee uniforms.Climb Safe and Remember that life is like taking a bath one wrong turn and you are in hot water.
