I agree that lightning struck trees can be some of the nastiest climbs. I also agree that the best way to learn how to deal with extreme hazard trees is to first watch someone else more experienced deal with them.

I'm positive that given the varied experiences of the readers of this forum the original question could still generate some interesting discussion; so I will rephrase the question.

Have you ever used any interesting techniques when dealing with an especially hazardous tree removal?
