I just switched from a belt and clip flip to a steel core
rope flip with a micro adjuster on the right D. I agree with
you about the lift and unloading of the D. Fortunately, mine
released a little while I was double tied for a limb traverse
on the trunk. Then the micro jammed on the carabiner, and
locked the micro lock open. Glad the flip line has a grommet
on the end and I was double tied at about 80' up. I can't
seem to get the right grip on the micro adjuster to shorten
the flip on the way up. Coming down isn't so bad, because
pressure on the flip will allow it to release if you can get
the micro mechanism released. Ah, the world of hi-tech.
