ISA Joins Renewable Natural Resources Foundation

CHAMPAIGN, IL (December 7,2005)-On November 1, 2005 the Board of Directors of the Renewable Natural Resources Foundation (RNRF) unanimously approved the membership application of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). The Foundation Board of Directors consists of representatives from each of its member organizations.

The RNRF, a non-profit organization, is a consortium of professional, scientific, and educational organizations. The Foundation works toward advancing renewable natural resources sciences and educating the public regarding such resources. By promoting the application of sound, scientific practices in managing and conserving renewable natural resources, the RNRF fosters cooperation among professional, scientific, and educational organizations who are responsible leaders in the renewable natural resources industry.

ISA's mission- "through research, technology, and education promote the professional practice of arboriculture and foster a greater public awareness of the benefits of tree"- correlates with purposes of the Foundation. The advancement of sciences and public education in renewable natural resources and/or the application of scientific knowledge to the management of renewable natural resources are among the primary purposes of RNRF members.

As a member, ISA now has representation on the Foundation board through Jim Skiera, ISA Executive Director.

Some other RNRF member organizations include American Society of Landscape Architects, Soil and Water Conservation Society, The Wildlife Society, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. For more information on the Renewable Natural Resources Foundation visit www.rnrf.org or email info@rnrf.org.
